This is a private tour, tailored to the visitor’s interests, with guides who know where to look for what you want to observe. On this tour it is possible to visit shelters not included in the daily tours, closer to the lagoons’ water line. You can go through rice paddies, pastures with cattle and horses (Lusitanian horses), up to the Ponta d’Erva straight that leads to the Tagus estuary; sometimes you can reach the Salina de Saragoça.
The theme of the visit varies throughout the year, following the cycles and rhythms of the Lezíria: from September to November you can observe the rice harvesting season; from December to February you can witness the natural spectacle of flocks of thousands of birds in the rice fields; from March to April you can photograph water mirrors as far as the eye can see; and from May to August you can follow the growth of the rice and the transhumance of the cattle, with the possibility of observing the work done by the farmers on horseback.
